Peering into the depth of the divine feminine, this piece aims to dissect and empower the truth of the feminine nature that inherently breathes within all of life. A truly challenging commission piece, as it was created for a stunning and powerful woman; therefore, to capture all that she was into a piece, proved to be a difficult task. To try and encapsulate an eternal moment of divine beauty was an experience that tested my ability as an artist through these vibrational lines. As an artist and human, I find myself more inline with a divine masculine archetype; therefore, having a muse that pushed my towards my own femininity was both inspiring and daunting. However, this piece unlocked parts of myself that I either was shielding my heart from, or was not aware of their existence. Hoping to do the same for the muse, I pushed the idea that the feminine is a complex creature and concept that needs further inspection. It is not simply about the outside physical beauty, but the inherent mosaic nature of the archetype. The multifaceted essence of the feminine is revealed in the beauty of the piece through the gold leaf and woman figure, yet it counterposed by the fluidity and “dark” feel of the paint. She bleeds into the earth, into herself, into others, and gives all that she is to the world. She feels with a magnitude of depth and empathy that is otherworldly, uncommon, and intimidating to most. Her ability to unconditionally love proves to leave her heart dangerously vulnerable, yet she is a warrior of passion who continues to give herself to life because there is simply no other way to live; anything else would be painstakingly inhuman to her, for to live a life without passion would be as cold as death.
